A Thought For the Night

The problem with friendships is that neither person wants to appear that they are more interested in the friendship than the other person. Looking more interested means looking  more "desperate".

How I Escaped From Retail Part 2

Remember that thing I posted called How I Escaped From Retail Part 2? Well I realized that I never posted a follow up post so this is the follow up post (or 1 of 2). I'll just post a spoiler up front (because...reasons, idk).

I have escaped from retail, not exactly "unscathed" but I did it.

It was surprisingly easy if not a bit nerve racking, to be honest. Oddly enough this part of the story begins 21 days after I posted Part 1.

I decided to go through a staffing agency. I applied to said staffing agency, they set up an interview with me, and had me take a few assessments. The interview was set for April 28th. I was nervous, not really nervous (I've been through enough interviews to not be nervous because of an interview) but still nervous. The interview went off without a hitch (it must have been a standard 15-30 minute interview, I can't remember). After the interview the woman interviewing me offered me a job at a call center. She said the position would start May 12th. Of course I accepted. That would give me exactly 2 weeks from the day I accepted the job to the day the job started. Of course I had to submit notices to my current jobs and what not, but that's part 3 material. Stay classy.

Music Monday #6

So guess what? THIS is actually the Music Monday post for this Monday (5/5/14). HAVE A SONG:

Hey, Soul Sister by Train
I don't have much to say about this song except that me and my best friend (at the time) danced to it at my high school prom.

Music.....Thing #5

I know I missed Music Monday because stuff has been crazy lately and I actually have a life....kinda. Anywho, for this installment of Music Thing I'm going to do a album review. Here's the album:
I acquired this album off of Amazon (I brought the CD). It was a birthday present, sort of. My overall first impression of the album was "Ahhhhhh...". I had this lovely relaxed/contented feeling brought on by the first song "Fireheads". The album doesn't put me to sleep thanks to energetic numbers like "Jungle Drum" and "Big Jumps". The album as a whole has this extremely unique sound that only musicians from Iceland seem to have. It has that easy listening/lounge music sound while maintaining deep emotions and messages. I think that this album appeals to people who like Norah Jones, Of Monsters and Men, and Coldplay.

Legend of Zelda Paper Cut Stop Motion

So I found this cute thing via Zelda Dungeon the other month and thought I'd share it here. I'm a die hard Zelda nerd fan geek.

Update aka I'm Not Dead Yet

AHHHH!!! So I haven't updated this blog in forever awhile. Maybe you want an update? Or two? A lot has happened in my life. Let's just have a top 5 list:

  1. I GOT A SHINY NEW JOB!!!!
  2. I was able to attend the lovely +Annalise Tecken 's senior music recital (vocal music).
  3. I have a terrible cavity beneath a filling that requires a tooth canal to cure (it's scheduled for tomorrow morning).
  4. I saw the Amazing Spiderman 2 last night with +Annalise Tecken* and my sister*.
  5. I bought used books, and I read Fault in Our Stars.
Is it bad that I just spent 20+ minutes trying to figure out 5 things that have recently happened to me? Anyways, I'll be submitting my notices of resignation tomorrow (I have two jobs to quit) and I'm really excited about it. Scared, but excited. I suppose you'll find out more about my job when I make it facebook official later this week. Anyways that's all for now. May the 4th be with you!
